Film Puerto Rican Films of DIVEDCO: Juan sin Seso and Modesta
Films
The Smithsonian Latino Center presents two short films from Puerto Rico that reflect the political, social, and economic changes taking place on the island during the 1950s and 1960s.

Juan sin Seso (1959, in Spanish with English subtitles) This humorously didactic short film warns against the dangers of consumerism.
Modesta (1956, in Spanish with English subtitles) This short film is a comical but poignant declaration (and negotiation) of women's rights on the interior of the island of Puerto Rico.
